We are very proud of the students who represent our studio @ competitions.                                                          
Auditions and  instructor recommendations are required to
become a competitive team member.  Students are involved in
a strict 2 hour ballet technique program as well as an additional
90 minute technique class focusing on leaps and turns, These
classes are necessary to ensure proper technique, flexibility, and
stamina. For the advanced dancer with a competitive spirit and
2 years of dance experience, age 6 and over. Auditions are held
in Mid-August. Students must not miss more than 3 technique
classes per season and must be made up before attending any
upcoming competitions.

Dance Designs offers 2 types of competitive teams:

 * Regional Competitive Team - Dance Designs' Dream Team
                                                                                                
Students will attend one local convention/workshop and 4 regional
competitions. Cost varies per competition and number of routines
being performed.

Consists of tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop

 * National Competition Teams (Dream Team - Elite)-
                                                                          
Students will attend one local convention/workshop and 4 regional
competitions and one National Competition.
Cost varies per competition and number of routines
being performed.

Consists of tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hip.

ALL Competitive team members  are required by the studio to purchase             
a "Spirit Pack" to wear at all competitions and studio events.
Each Spirit Pack includes:
Dance Designs jacket and long pants, t-shirt, dance shorts, and dance bag.
The price of the spirit pack will be approximately $150.00 - $180.
This price includes the studio name, student's name, and  logo.
This will be due during the month of October.

Costumes & Cost

Costumes:

Costume fees vary depending on the discretion of each individual teacher
and their desires for each class. We do, try to keep these costs minimal.
Costumes will be ordered when all music and routines are established for
each class. The costumes will be worn for each competition and  the
"year-end recital" (optional).

Costume prices do not include tights, shoes, or accessories. Shoes can be
modified to achieve the desired color and texture based on the discretion
of the individual teacher. All costume fees are due at the tune the order is
placed, sometime during the month of November. This fee may also be
deducted from your debit/credit card or by check, unless other arrangements
are made for payment.
Cost: Costumes may range from $55 to $100 depending on the costume and accessories.               
 

Spirit Wear:

	Hip Hop - tennis shoes
	Jazz - tan slip on
	Tap - black lace up/split sole
	Lyrical - dance paws
	Ballet -  split sole ballet shoes

Tap/Jazz/Ballet Shoes may be purchased @ Kinney's Dancewear on Hurstburne Lane.
Children's ballet/tap shoes may be purchased @ Payless or Walmart Stores.
